Barcelona is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with millions of visitors every month visiting the Spanish city. With this comes all the pick pocketing reputation that Barcelona has, especially certain areas (La Rambla). Below are a 3 safety guidelines to safeguard you from pick pocketing trouble during your holiday.
May seem like an obvious tip, but try not to have any valuables on show. You’re less likely to be pick pocketed if you seem like you’re vigilant.
Pick pockets usually work in groups. They will try and cause a distraction, whilst one person tries to take your valuables. If you’re confronted by a group of people, walk away.
If you go out to eat, pay attention to your bag and jacket at all times. Pick pockets find their most joy with bags left on the floor and jackets left on the back of chairs.
