A holiday should be a time when you can relax and forget all of your worries. This is, of course, difficult if you are suffering from an illness or injury. These are some of the steps you can take to avoid becoming ill whilst you are away on holiday:
- Drink plenty of water. So many holiday complaints are actually caused by dehydration. Drink water throughout the day to make sure you stay hydrated.
- Only drink bottled water. Tap water can cause an upset stomach, even if it is clean, just due to the fact it is different. Bottled water is usually very cheap abroad so drink this instead.
- Be careful in the sun. Sunburn and sunstroke are very unpleasant but they can be easily avoided. Wear a high factor sun cream and have regular breaks from the sun.
- Avoid mosquito bites. Use a good insect repellent and wear long sleeves at night if you need to.
